You have the option to hard wire your tablet directly to your router to help with internet connectivity.  Follow along below to learn how to create a hard wire connection to your tablet.

To use ethernet on the rear tablet, you can get a USB to ethernet adapter. There are many available on Amazon, and they should all work right away.  The easiest thing to do it to connect the rear tablet to ethernet to the same router as the Infinite. But you'll have to have internet on that router.  Alternatively, you can connect the tablet to the Infinite directly. I believe you'll need an ethernet crossover cable, but we have not verified this method.

Since the Kiosk connects to the Helper over a network, you wont be able to do a file transfer; you'll have to set an static IP for each computer. I've copied the instructions below from the web and modified them for our purposes.

Configuring the INFINITE:

1.

Go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change Adapter Settings

2.

Right-click on the Wifi adapter and select Properties.

3.

Select Sharing tab and check the box labeled "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection."

4.

Confirm with the OK button and find yourself back in the Network Connections window.

5.

Next, in Network connections Right-click on your ethernet adapter and select Properties. Scroll down to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and select Properties.

6.

Select "Use the following IP address." Enter 192.168.0.1 for the IP and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet mask. DO NOT enter anything for Default Gateway. That's for internet and that is being handled by the wifi.

7.

Next you must assign (one or) both DNS servers. I use the one's from Google.

Preferred: 8.8.8.8

Alternate: 8.8.4.4

Use the same DNS when you configure the tablet!

8.

Confirm everything and this computer is done.

Configuring the Tablet

1.

Go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change Adapter Settings

2.

Right-click on your USB ethernet adapter and select Properties. Scroll down to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and select Properties.

3.

Select "Use the following IP address." Enter 192.168.0.2 for the IP. It has to be in the same range as the Infinite IP, but a different number. Hence the 2. Use 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet mask.

4.

Assign Default Gateway. It'll be the assigned IP of the Infinite: 192.168.0.1

5.

Assign the same DNS as on the Infinite.

6.

Confirm everything...

The tablet should now be able to use the internet. Open a browser on the tablet and give it a go. If it doesn't work, switch off your hotspot and switch it back on again. Windows uses the last DHCP it encounters, so you want to make sure it's the wifi so you'll get internet.

You may have to manually input the IP address for the Infinite in the Kiosk.

Hard wiring an iPad

The INFINITE and software is designed to work with any network be it wireless or ethernet. There's an ethernet cable included in the cable snake for that reason alone!  The iPad is another thing entirely. We have tried many possibilities but ultimately we could not get the app to connect to the Helper. We tried 4 different ethernet adapters and only one got the iPad to successfully connect to the internet. None of them could access the Helper.  If you wish to use iPads at your event, we suggest (and we've done this) is bring a router with wifi capability. Connect the booth to the router via ethernet and have the iPads connect via wifi. The iPads will be able to connect to the Helper on the booth since they will be on the same local network.

Minimum requirement to run ppu kiosk is ipad generation 4 (A6X SoC)
We recommend at least iPad Air (A7 SoC) or later.

Congratulations!  You have successfully configured your PC and Tablet and are now hardwired.
